When I got my BlackBerry 7110t is was OS 3.8 so I decided to upgrade it (it was missing Password Keeper, not to mention other updates) to version 4.0 which is still the official T-Mobile version. For those of you that have seen OS 4.1 you will want it If nothing else convinces you, check out the themes!

There really is no major benefit from going from 3.8 to 4.0 since both versions are virtually the same. However, 4.1 includes many changes (including speed boost) and you will notice when searching for software that a lot of programs require 4.1+.

To get version 4.1 on your 7100t you have to download it from here . Get the software for 7100g and install it. Now, before you hook up your phone to upgrade it you must go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader and delete Vendor.xml. After that you’re ready to upgrade!
